I'm using TOS 4.92, and I didn't use HD Driver at all, in Hatari I just selected the "GEMDOS Emulated drive" or whatever that option is exactly, and mounted a folder of my PC's hard drive.
Yes, with solid state it should be quite playable, and if dml reduces the memory footprint to 6.5MB even more so.
Good luck with getting the memory board, even if the final version of BadMood runs fine with 4MB it will still be be a good upgrade!
