There will be hackers around for these old systems as long as a single unit still functions. They even have conventions now where indie developers release new games and software for long obsolete computers and video game systems. I'm a collector of obsolete electronic gadgets and I really LOVE this stuff. It's a nice hobby and it teaches you a lot about the history of technology when you get into it. It can be expensive and take up a lot of room, though. :( Definitely not a hobby for married folks or young people still living with mom and dad.
