I reckon if *Atari had been sold to the public and for $US five million it could easily been sold to the public which would do a better job with *Atari than Hasbro. I would like to know if Nolan Bushnell was ever asked to buy *Atari, I know he tried to buy the arcade divsion in 1996 but was beaten by WMS industries (Williams). I know a lot of people reckon Nolan Bushnell didn't do much for *Atari but I reckon he was a lot better than the Tramiels, JTS were and better than Hasbro so far. Hasbro reckons that there trying to carry the *Atari name into the next generation but all there doing is killing *Atari quicker (just like that software company that they now own, I'm not sure but I think it was Microphase which was a big name before Hasbro bought but now you see or hear nothing about/by Microphase) and they also say that the general public doesn't know much about Atari any further than the 5200 which is a load of bull because in the FNQ region of Australia, I had problems for so long trying to get the LYNX not because the shop wouldn't order them but because as soon as they got them they would sell out and Iread that this also happened in New York but not only with the LYNX but also with the Jaguar and Atari couldn't couldn't keep up with the demand and there is no other system (console/computer) has had the problem where the demand out weighs the supply. Everybody that I show my LYNX to has asked to buy mine and I've been offered rediculously high amounts for but I don't want to part with it and when I've lent it to someone and they've broken it I've had to wait months on end to get another LYNX and I have to buy it as soon as I read about it in the paper (around 7:00 am) or see it or otherwise it will be gone with in a little while after. So I put this question to Hasbro If the general public isn't aware of Atari after the 5200 then how come nearly everybody are trying to get thier hands on a LYNX/Jaguar and since they find it so hard to find these systems they are forced to buy inferior products? But I suppose it's better to let the public create games to give programmer who are battling to have a go on such great consoles but they also need more of these console to be made and it will have to have the Atari name on it because without the *Atari name on it then some people might not reliase what a great company *Atari was (I know *Atari didn't wasn't the company that started the LYNX or Handy as was the original name because Epyx were but *Atari were the ones who finished it) and it will also help Hasbro with selling of the software. I have also emailed Nolan Bushnell about a few of these things and suggesting that since he didn't buy any division/part of *Atari then he should start a new company in the industry but I haven't got a reply yet because I only sent it this week so if I get a reply I will post it on this forum and a few other *Atari forums. I will later on will also send an e-mail to Hasbro but I'm still putting together some stuff to show them that they don't know what there talking about and to stop killing such great company and if they can't help *Atari or Microphase then sell them to somebody who will, and to stick with making toys because what we've seen so far there no good in Information Technology industry.
