FreeGem is available for download..... it's stuck in the past/early development, but if you were to make Gem work nicely on modern computers (Hey just write it to work on pc's & also on Macs..... like Magic did), then I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with.
I like Gem, I like the way that a 4MB st is as good as a 32MB Apple mac of the same era, just that the Mac programs use huge amounts of memory.... Gem seems more effiecient.
My favourite slogan was "All well written Gem programs should work" & when I hear that slogan, more often than not, the programs worked & worked well.
The next thing is, what you'd do, because I like Gem, but I hate that stupid Windoze start thing & Apple Mac os was so...... un inspired.
PS: If you could somehow RE-write the Tos chips for old 68k macs, & then have the machines boot Gem, that'd be a lovely sight!
