Hi Chris,
what you see as "HDDriver 780 processor" is the HDDriver,
competing for the SCSI bus under the configured ID. Some
SCSI devices need that and that would have been my first
guess to enable the HDDriver to feature an ID.
But apparently you already have that.
The fact that HDDriver crashes gets me worried.
Since you're connecting a CD-ROM, you could try to
run Hard & Soft's CD-Tools if you find them. It doesn't
rely on HDDriver. You could also run HDX/AHDI to see
what it finds when checking SCSI devices.
Next to that, the Falcon had a general problem with DMA
and in the best case, your Falcon simply needs a clock
patch. I haven't heard of HDDriver crashing due to bad
DMA but i also can't guarantee that it doesn't.
