I dont know about Plotters, but I have always found, that 9 times out of 10, most printers will work with an EPSON driver of sorts if its a DMP anyway.
I have tried quite a few lazers too, and they often work with HP LezerJet II Drivers, similarly for normal InkJets too!
Of course, I dont know what software you are using, and what printer you eventually intend on getting, but with papyrus, I have never failed to get any printer to work perfectly, and I have tried a good handfull of completely weird ones I can tell you.
Not much I know, but its a start...
