True. Actually, the Game Boy Advance is an improvement over the Lynx in several ways, though I admit that the lack of a backlight is annoying. Still, the backlight would have cut battery life significantly.

Frankly, the word here is management. Nintendo started as a playing card company. They actually offered their fledgling game system (the original Nintendo) to Atari under a licensing deal, but Atari didn't want it.
