I got an STE with 4MB & with a hard drive (perhaps 500Meg), & I love it!
It plays games, It does some other bits I like..... art/graphics.
I downloaded some games and also got Substation, and use an Atari Jagpad to play these (not all games can use the Jag pad).
look for st's to turn up second hand..... I got lucky, got mine for just a few quid through Atai forums... MyAtari buy & sell if I remember correctly.
I don't feel a desperate need to go higher (spec), just when/if I could afford to go higher.
