Hey! CAF can't use ide for recording at all. It was originally that way because some ides were not fast enough. I'm pretty sure that is no longer the case though. Anodyne is able to do it's CD recording faster on IDE than SCSI. I really wish that the SCSI limitation could be removed, especially if it would allow recording through the USB of the ethernat, or the forthcoming CTPCI. Sombody'd have to write USB drivers for HD access. It's kind of funny to me, direct to disk recording is what kept me with atari so long!
