I'm awaiting a Peltier heat pump from Ebay,which is what you mention Maplin have in the UK. They do a great job, but require a lot of power, check the amps. Mine I have bought needs 6amps on 12v, the old Falcon PSU can't supply powers of that level. I don't know what I'll use mine for but it was much cheaper than Maplin. Maybe on CT60? Remember to put a heatsink on the hot side and make sure you control the power as you might get condensation/water appearing :) They go below freezing point easy.
