Just want to clear some things up:

MultiTOS *is* MiNT. To be more precise, MiNT and AES 4.0 equals MultiTOS. Todays equivalence of MultiTOS would be FreeMiNT kernel + XaAES. The original MultiTOS from Atari is severely outdated today, and is most certainly not worth bothering with IMO.
To catch up on the history regarding MiNT you can have a read here:

Regarding CrippleMiNT:
Depending on what you wish to achieve with your computer, chances are CrippleMiNT will offer most of that. I don't know if there is an up-to-date version of CrippleMiNT but it used to install FreeMiNT kernel + XaAES and MiNTNet. That is, you would get a MultiTOS-like system with MiNTnet thrown in.
Compared with a fullblown FreeMiNT installation, I guess CrippleMiNT actually installs a crippled setup. But to be fair, then both MagiC, Geneva and others must be considered equally crippled.
