good luck if you get one done...
a laptop huh?
I want a TT machine, games are now my driving motivation.
I would guess most people would opt for a TT, am I correct?
The TT's got higher specs, speed, hard drive/storage space memory
as for the practicality of your plan....
Oh but now I'm wondering that you are planning to buy an old second hand Atari & make it into a laptop?
That could be tricky, the motherboard footprint being the thing, Atari ST motherboards were pretty big.
Most software is pretty well behaved, more so later written software, my favourite phrase from Atari ST times was "all cleanly written Gem programs should run" & if I've ever run later written Gem programs, they've allways behaved themselves very well.
I use Tos 3.01 at times on my ST & everything runs fine, so the software compatability is high.
