hmmm...
It's not that I don't believe You but somehow this
makes no sense.
It is known that first falcon-prototypes were
planned to have an 68040 processor and that
it was a political decision not to give the
falcon a faster cpu than the tt because nobody
would have chosen a slower tt with a higher
price.
What could have been the reason for another
16-MHz 68000 machine beside the Mega STE??
I know that several ST programs crash on Falcons
BECAUSE of the 8 upper bits of the address-
registers which were sometimes used for shit-data
on STs. Why should these programscrash when
the RAM-connection on Falcon were only 24 bit, too?
Also, I do not understand why there are several
expansion-cards for the Falcon which do offer
RAM with more than 16 MB.
Perhaps I'm totally wrong, but if so, please
explain the above metioned things which contradict
my knowledge about the Falcon.
After all, the people I know who have a TT
and a Falcon say that the TT is about 40%
faster (by using the 16 MHz ST-RAM) which
is a correct value when both machnes have 32 bit
RAM access.
greets, Alex
