Right, some time ago, when I was trying to get my Falcon to run stable, I was informed that I had to take the 7408 and its wires off and put the Resistors back on.
I did this and it did not help the reliability of the falcon but it pretty much killed all reliability on the SCSI.
I have been talking with Rodolphe Czuba about it and he sent me a 7404 that has already got some wires on it and with some basic instructions, I installed it.
I noted that the way that it installs is completely different to how the original 7408 was connected... That was connected the same way that the doc I have says.
I installed the supplied 7404 anyway and all that happened was that when I tried to start the Falcon up, I get a box on the VDU saying VIDEO SIGNAL OUT OF RANGE
Naturally, I have removed it and it starts up fine again.
So...
I am thinking that maybe I need to get hold of another 7408 and re-do the original fix but a couple of thigns are stopping me..
1 - The original info on doing it, I can no longer find?
2 - With so many kinds of 7408, which one is the best one?
Does anyone have any other ways that I can cure my SCSI issues on the Falcon?
